Here are our finished EDI and Joker costumes! c: The convention was great fun; I got to see some friends and meet new people, and lots of nice folks asked for pictures. All in all, a great day!

I may make some edits to these before we wear them again (namely to the boot covers—making some for Joker, and adding some details and Velcro to EDI’s to keep them from falling down). Do let me know what you think, and thanks for looking! :D <3

OHHHH my goodness, look at you!  <3  You win at everything.  Those are some amazing costumes, and so accurate!  Looking at the back of your EDI cosplay, I feel like I’m on the weapon loadout screen right now.  :P

Button – Also known as a pommel nut, pommel bolt, capstan rivet, or tang nut. In some swords, the button is screwed on to the end of the tang to hold the grip on.
Pommel – The counter-weight at the end of the grip.
Grip – Handle
Tang – The hidden part of the blade which the grip is mounted to.
Shoulder – The corner portion where the tang and the blade meet.
Guard – A blanket term for all the parts that protect the hand.
Quillon – Extended portions of the guard.
Écusson – or quillon block. The metal center where the quillons meet and all parts of the guard attach to.
Ricasso – Unsharpened portion of the blade which extends from the grip to the end of the guard.

Yes, I knew these. The pommel is the part of the weapon that I think is the most personal to the wielder, and has the most character, more than the actual blade.
